Costa Mesa Sanitary District, CR&R Environmental Services, and Orange Coast College invite customers to a free drive-thru Shredding and Compost Giveaway Event!

  • Residents can drop off up to 5 standard file boxes of paper per household.
  • 2 bags of compost per household available while supplies last.
  • A limited amount of kitchen pails will be available to residents upon request while supplies last.
*Please note: this event is only eligible to CMSD customers. Proof of residency is required (such as an ID, utility bill, etc.).

    • June 28 from 5 - 10 PM

Town Hall Meetings

CMSD will be hosting a series of town hall meetings to share information on CMSD’s transition to a three-cart waste collection system and address any questions you may have. The meetings will be held on the following dates:
  • August 7, 2024 at 6 p.m. – CMSD Headquarters (290 Paularino Avenue, Costa Mesa)
  • August 10, 2024 at 9 a.m. – CMSD Headquarters (290 Paularino Avenue, Costa Mesa)
  • October 2, 2024 at 6 p.m. – Norma Hertzog Community Center (1845 Park Avenue, Costa Mesa)
  • October 5, 2024 at 9 a.m. – Norma Hertzog Community Center (1845 Park Avenue, Costa Mesa)

Back by popular demand, CMSD is hosting its 3rd annual Eco Expo! Customers will have a chance to "talk trash" with industry professionals and local eco-enthusiasts, particularly about the upcoming transition to a three-cart waste collection system. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the changes ahead! Additionally, the event features useful recycling and gardening tips, educational activities, and lots of eco-friendly giveaways to help the whole family live more sustainably!
